In February 2017 the National Research, Development and Innovation Office has published its call for the “Competitiveness and Excellence in Cooperations” program. The goal of the program is to encourage long-term, strategic partnerships between domestic enterprises, research institutes and higher education institutions, which will result in commercially available scientific achievements to address the problems of economic and social life.

The call for proposals with a budget of HUF 17 billion has received 47 applications. After the evaluation of a multilevel panel evopro’s digital manufacturing technology development project was also selected to be supported by the program. The objective of the project titled “Developing Modular Digital Manufacturing Technology Framework and Services for SMEs” is to provide the economic benefits of the product lifecycle management (PLM) to Small, Medium and Micro-Enterprises in a networked client-server architecture with secure data management, to make it economically viable with a comprehensive and integrated framework. The project does not call to develop a completely new PLM framework. Instead its goal is to create a manufacturing technology solution and service environment that seeks to provide cost-effective solutions at various levels in the digitialization of technology, IT (hardware and software), production and logistics tasks by developing so-called cyber-physical manufacturing systems. Today’s product lifecycle management systems enable digital support for a product’s entire lifecycle from conceptual design, manufacturing planning and manufacturing to operation, maintenance and decommissioning. The consortium will develop a customizable framework and digital manufacturing technology know-how as a continuously maintained and extended knowledge base service. In addition to creating the PLM framework, we also aim to research and develop customizable functionality for digital manufacturing technology modules to be integrated into the framework; the cybertechnological protection of the framework; and the integration of virtual and real-time testing devices.

The members of the consortium: evopro systems engineering Ltd. ecomatic Ltd. graphIT Ltd. - Hungarian distributor of Siemens PLM BME GTT – Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering BME CrySyS – Laboratory of Cryptography and System Security
